Hong Kong Investigate HFMD in Kowloon Tong School

The Centre for Health Protection (CHP) of the Department of Health is investigating an outbreak of hand, foot and mouth disease (HFMD) at a primary school, Kowloon Tong School.

21 students, 16 boys and 5 girls, aged 6 to 10 years old, were infected with HFMD. They have developed fever, oral ulcers, rash on their hands and feet, since 23 October 2015. All are now in stable condition. 

Officers of CHP have advised the school staff on necessary infection control and preventive measures, as well as the public to maintain strict personal and environmental hygiene.
